Advent Guide - We Welcome

This Advent, join us on a 4-week journey through Scripture as we reflect on the hospitality given and received in the story of Christ’s birth, and how we can live out welcome in our lives today. Pull up a seat as we enter the home of our new friend Zala, a refugee from Afghanistan now living in Raleigh, North Carolina, as she teaches us about showing welcome across cultures.

As is mentioned in the video, Zala is a refugee from Afghanistan. Along with so many others, she still has loved ones who remain in danger from the Taliban, as well as friends brought here during the 2021 evacuation, who she’s been helping as they settle into their new lives here.

As we continue to reflect on ways to learn from Zala's hospitality, let’s also show welcome to the friends she cares so much about by supporting the Afghan Adjustment Act. This bipartisan bill provides a path to permanent status to Afghan allies who wait in a legal limbo due to the nature of their evacuation, despite their years of service to the US. Call Congress today and ask your representatives to support this bill, and feel free to schedule a call with us if you’d like to learn more!
